    I made this years ago and figured I would share. I work construction and it seems that the first thing people do with a new tool is take the case and guards and throw them in the garbage. This case went to a rotary hammer. I used a grinder and removed all the little pieces that heals the tool in place. I got the foam out of a dumpster at a foam and fabric store. You could also use foam from an old couch cushion and trim it with an electric knife.

    It is also somewhat of a diversion case but, saying DeWalt, it is still attractive to a thief. There were Not near as many secure plastic cases on the market 16 years ago when I made this.

    Something similar. I use briefcases purchased at a thrift store for a couple of bucks, and foam from whereever. Keep them out of sight in my car trunk.

    I've had great success with tennis and racquetball cases. Prefer these to tool or briefcases for the following reasons:

    - $1-$5 at yard sales and thrift stores, even free
    - Soft/padded interiors built-in
    - Unassuming
    - Can fit 4 ARs in a x2 tennis case
    - Briefcases are outdated and/or scream "valuable" (i.e., Pelican)
    - Crackheads don't steal/pawn tennis/racquetball equipment

    I posted my racket case a few weeks back in another thread. I like it too. It will even fit with a 20 round metal GI mag inserted.

    Question - - -> A man carrying a tennis racket sez what about you . . vs . . a man carrying a DeWalt nail gun,grinder,drill,etc. ??
    Think about it. We don't need a decission right now. --- SAWMAN

    I have a few. Most of them say I’m on my way to the court. A couple say different.
