The #1 mistake a hunter makes using a electronic call is volume. They are always waaaay too loud.
Picture this - -> how big are a rabbits lungs ??
Start out low and get somewhat louder, just not too loud. If you feel you need more volume to get to the yote .... move closer. ---- SAWMAN

And of course a remote caller is the way to go.
I have a 14" piece of coyote tail, tied to a rusty section of welding rod. It is placed next to the speaker.
Using shotgun, rifle,or pistol,do not put the speaker out farther than you can shoot. IMO,an auto loading shotgun is best. Never put the speaker out farther than you can hear it.
Consider a shot load somewhat smaller than #4 buck. I prefer #1 or "BB". Always use a 12ga for size of load.
Pattern your gun at an honest 40yds. Count pellets put on a 30 - 36 inch target. Compare loads. --- SAWMAN
