Actually, the biggest problem is the salespeople loosing their minds and the managers that didn't think their BS thru...
adding on special orders takes time...time we don't have anymore.

We all knew that after the storm it was going to be a madhouse,
stores without power/stores destroyed/stores who sold out of dang near everything because they were open...
but we've got idiots over here that are insisting on pre-10am delivery, and that ain't gonna happen
when we are literally 20 people short in our warehouse (anyone want an 18-hr a day job @10 per hour?)
and the truck his order is going on ain't gonna be loaded until 11am-1pm today.
Heck, the guy won't even be there when his order gets to the store, because he never works at that store.

Then we have the salespeople trying to shove extra orders for stores who get once a week deliveries
onto other trucks with established routes, which then take longer to load, and longer to deliver
because they have to make an extra stop...which if I were running the warehouse would not be happening.
Your delivery day is your delivery day, no special orders. No Extra Delivery at all.
We can't fill the regular orders we have in a timely manner now, much less all this extra crap.
They're all like OMG the sky is falling, we gotta bend over for this customer!
No, we don't. It's causing serious problems. Time for it to stop.
If they were too stupid to have a bleeping generator to cover their store when they live on
The Hurricane Coast, they really shouldn't be running a store, should they?
1800-GENERAC is an easy number to remember...

Worst part is we keep getting these pot-addled morons in that can't seem to run a full shift
without skeeving off to smoke weed in the freezer...yep, they busted another one couple nights ago.
Tell me pot ain't addictive agaiin. If you can't wait until AFTER work...or at least go out on yer break
and do it in your car where you have some air freshener/de-stink to kill the skunkweed smell...
you got an addiction problem...and a stupidity problem.

So if anyone needs a job, check out Indeed.com for warehouse positions in Milton...
we'll give you more hours than you can stand in overtime...
but at least it's outta the heat ;)

And thanks for letting me vent.

Sounds like your company's business is booming aside from the hurricane. That's job security right there. Can't get fired if you're busy.

Well, we're still down about 22 warehouse workers.
Hiring at 11/hr for midnight shift pickers.
Show up at 7am, pass the drug test & submit background check info,
they'll have you working that night or the next.

I’ve been going through similar, except I don’t require a background check or a drug test and I still can’t keep workers. They work for a couple weeks, then flake out after they’ve saved up enough beer and drug money.
