"Cold Waters" is an interesting PC game which was inspired by the old "Red Storm Rising" PC game by Micropose which came out in 1988 (for those old enough to remember).
I noticed that many of the weapon sensors, ranges, speeds, warhead HE, etc., were off a bit, and corrected sonar and detection ranges from declassified sources (namely CIA dot gov estimates on US and Soviet submarine and sonar capabilities, etc), and Russian sources on torpedoes, weapon loadouts, etc. The basic game contains two US campaigns, 1968 and 1984, but additional mods are available to play US, Soviet, and NATO subs and surface vessels.
The game can be quite challenging with these changes, and of course it's not a "real" subsim like "Dangerous Waters", but for those wishing to bring hellfire on the godless Soviets, it's a lot of fun.
Mods, updates, etc., are available on the Subsim dot com forum.
