Ever wonder why solar power hasn't become popular yet in the residential market? It's still quite expensive IMO. Big power companies I'm betting are doing everything they can to keep costs up so they don't lose business.
The cost of solar energy in many cases are subsidized by the US government by income tax cuts and such. No it is not cheaper, but I would like to have a small emergency set up for charging batteries and maybe other light tasks.

There's apparently a large tax credit by going with solar somewhere in the $8k range. Some power companies are giving rebates as well in the multi thousand dollar range. It's still an incredibly expensive investment for such a low rate of return. Not to mention the storms we have in FL that could destroy the entire system in a matter of minutes.

Until Al Gore sells his beach house, I'm thinking we've got a few hundred years before we actually have to worry about it.
Seriously, it's on the Gulf Coast...pretty easy to find...they still use it as a hideaway to get away from it all.

trump said he checked into it for his buildings, the component replacement cost, every 10 yrs, out weighed the savings in the long run

calif will destroy the housing business, driving lower earner out, with the mandate they put on new housing to take effect in a few years

Framing them under plexiglass helps, having quick-connects so you can pull the whole thing down in minutes
in case of hurricane is also helpful. Basically you mount it on your home like you do an RV...for takedown.
In this way you can avoid the worst of the weather problems :)

My bright idea was to mount panels over each South-east facing window like an awning...so you get maximum sun exposure,
and it shades those windows for additional cooling benefits:)
Not to mention the teensy little electric bill!

Damn good idea on the bahama style over the windows. It would work for 3 windows on my house for about 8hrs of sunlight. Do you have a battery system setup with yours?

Now the real story from https://www.cbsnews.com/news/california-lawmakers-vote-on-bill-to-go-emissions-free-by-2045/
Bill is not yet law. I am not sure where the gasoline ban comes in, is it also in the language of the bill?
The nation's largest state currently gets just over one-third of its energy from wind, solar or geothermal power, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Another 9 percent comes from nuclear plants. Natural gas, considered a "cleaner" fossil fuel, makes up 49 percent of the energy mix.

The bill now goes to the Senate for a procedural vote, and then to Gov. Jerry Brown for a signature. Brown has been quiet about his position on the bill, although he has positioned himself as a leader on addressing climate change, in contrast with White House policies.

    Good video covering this topic...

    https://youtu.be/RkdbSxyXftc

There also is the Main Factor of Sun Cycles... Geological Climatologists point to a coming Mini IceAge and that HUMANS have NO affect on climate... ITS THE SUNS EFFECT BY ABOUT 98%.

The Global Warming SCAM(IMO) is nothing more than a TAX by Politicians to Fund a One World Govt...

THE CLIMATE HAS ALWAYS CHANGED........... with or without us.

The Sun Spot Cycle: Solar Minimum Often Means More Winter Snow seems to be valid. Forecasting the weather is not an exact science at the present relative to what we know.
The green house gases are only part of the equation. The amount of sunlight that strikes earth is certainly important.

But looking at local data and drawing conclusion is not easy for me.

What are them little boyz gonna do when she takes their mom and dad financed diesel pickup trucks ??
Occshzieho-Cohrtizzieo is over the top and picking up speed. ANY Dem that runs against her should be able to put her down quickly. UNLESS . . . they all believe that same bullshit.
Hope some of them Dems realize that what the DNC did to poor 'ol Bernie, they could do again to their un-favorites. --- SAWMAN

The "Green New Deal" is Socialism with a dash of electric cars. It has Very Little to do with any kind of renewal energy. It's mostly social welfare programs.

It's a fact that many Dems are in favor of it.
It's also a fact that when the POTUS reaffirmed at the SOTU that "America will never be a socialist country", a large number of Dems stayed stoic and didn't even applause, let alone stand up.

Watch them put a Socialist as their front-runner... God forbid it "wins" the election. We'd be looking another Revolution.

Liberals aren’t liberal, they as a group make me fear for my country’s future freedom.

IMHO: The U.S. elected socialists/communists won't publicly and truthful admit what they are. They hide under a newer cloak called "progressive" or linger as liberals. All in all, there are much less than six degrees of seperation between the mutations and each one will support the other as long as it tears down democracy and capitalism.

Everything is centered around "equality" and the elimination of Class Division. It is prefaced as the only means to bring the "lower class" up. In actual practice, it only serves to bring all but the chosen empowered elites down to the lower class level thereby fulfilling their promise. The lemmings choose to be ignorant of where the path leads.

Follow whatever Party you like, its still a free Country (for now),

"By the end of the Green New Deal resolution (and accompanying fact sheet) I was laughing so hard I nearly cried. If a bunch of GOPers plotted to forge a fake Democratic bill showing how bonkers the party is, they could not have done a better job."
