    Yes! I went out and bought a red rider a few years back specifically for the same purpose. Lots of fun.

    I'v heard of folks inserting a felt cleaning pellet in the chamber then dropping a pellet weight charge of #12 shot down the muzzle. Never tried it. Don't know how effective it would be.

    when i was a kid, i wondered why they could not make a guided missile to shoot horseflies and flies down... lock it on, and fire
    Talking about horseflys:

    As kids in Uriah, we’d stick a pine straw in a horse flys butt.
    Point it up and let it go. It would fly straight up clean out of sight.

    Called them Alabama Bottle Rockets.
