Ok here it is, I'm trying to fire form small primer 7.62x39 brass to the 6.5 Grendel. I managed to get one out of eight to fire in the gun. I pull the trigger on my AR and all I get is "click", Remove case to inspect no firing pin strike on primer. It fires the factory brass perfectly but not the reformed x39. In theory it should fire the cases. Any one have an answer? Thanks

Did you full length size the brass down to 6.5 Grendel specs? Does the brass chamber fully and the bolt lock fully into battery?

A 6.5 Grendel bolt has about .011" more headspace than a 7.62X39 Bolt if I recall.

I didn't realize there was a difference between 7.62x39 and a 6.5 Grendel bolt I thought they were the same? If so then this explains it.

Well that pretty much answers it. Firing pin doesn't reach the primer with sufficient force to ignite. That's my best guess.
