Got a new project. Apparently one of the guys that works for me has had this behind his washing machine to keep it away from his grandkids. He is obviously not a gun guy or a Belgium Browning would be in a safe somewhere. Turns out that a dirt daubber nest saved the bore. ResizedImage_1397689323790.jpg
More pics to follow as it comes back to life.

WOW. I say "Beat him, beat him like a dog for that". JMHO too fine a gun to let that happen. [Insert Sarcasm picture here]

Turns out that a dirt daubber nest saved the bore., how did this work?

The daubber nest was right at the muzzle. Kept it dry apparently. Other than having to regrind the crown enough to dress it up the rifling is clean.

In the midst of everything else got some time to start on this. Media blasted and polished the receiver. Unfortunately this one is going to wear Cerakote. The pitting is too deep to blue. ResizedImage_1398173456425.jpg
Some midnight blue paint should look pretty acceptable though. Also discovered that the bolt assembly is not the original and is binding so fitting will be required. The cartridge guide is rusted beyond salvage and the mainspring is broken.
