Need to order some mags for my new LR 308. Also question about scope mounting, looks like I don't need the cantilever AR mount? Thanks!

For the DPMS guns I would reccomend Mag Pul 10 shot . . . for several reasons unbeknownst to the common man.
Bring one over and I will "permantly alter" one of them to only hold 5,for deer. I have some MagPul -5 inserts here. --- SAWMAN

I've had several of the DPMS 308's and a Galil Ace 308. I tended to subconsciously lean towards "more is better". I tried the accuracy and prone thing, and it's just not me. Find some Magpul 25 rounders. Whatever you do get, make sure its Magpul. Marine owned and operated, and now USMC proven in torture test that the Gen3 Magpul mag is the most reliable AR/M16/M4, etc mag on the planet

Ok, p-mags (bleh, plastic:) seem to be the best. Now what gen? 1,2,3?
This reciever has the high rail so I'm thinking I don't need the cantilever mount and can just use standard rings?

Thanks Bill. I have a spot picked out to try a long range shot on deer. 440 yards from a 30 foot stand. Probably going to get a nikon m308 scope for it 16x or so. I'm going to practice alot before I try it though. Going to get 8 inch steel plate out there before season to practice.

I've only used the pmags and lancers and had no issues with either. I like the lancers better as they have metal feed lips. That's just personal preference as I really have no reason to say they are better because of that.

I've enjoyed 100% performance from both MagPul Gen 3 20-round and 10-round magazines as well as factory DPMS 20-round and 10-round magazines.

CDNN Sports might have factory DPMS magazines.

Yeah, KAC is proud of their stuff, can't argue with the quality. I run Pmags and Brownells in Aero 308s and Colt 901 they all run perfectly. Just ordered a couple 50 Rd Dmags, can't wait to try it out.

James, yeah get the heavy steel mags that scratch the shit outta your brass, and are hard to load/unload, because they are "sturdy" for when you go to war.
You want steel ?? I got some that I will trade you even for 10shot MagPuls. --- SAWMAN
