Found in my father in law stash after his passing. He was a Navy pilot in the Korean war but have no idea if there's any connection to his service and this pistol. Markings on the pistol are "BERETTA - Cal 7.65 - Bravetata" Below that is "Gardane V.T. 1944". The holster has markings on the inside but all that can be made out is most of one word that has to be "BROWNING". Any info about this firearm is appreciated.

I believe it is a Beretta m1935, which is the 7.65 (32 acp) version of the m1934. You can google the m1934 and m1935, they were pretty common and popular pistols during ww2, issued by Italy, but also used by their German Allies, and anyone else who picked them up as war trophies. As GI war trophies, they were pretty popular as concealed carry pieces in the post-war era, due to their simplicity, size, and common caliber.

Many thanks for the info. Will do further research on google on the numbers you gave. Thanks again.
