Was told it was daniel defense but looks like only the upper and bolt are DD.
Anyone verify the markings? It's not important, I just like to know.
The whole build has good parts so I don't expect it to be a cheap barrel but can't say for sure.

No sure of your barrel maker, but DD barrels are normally marked like this. Hope it helps.

A question. Are the barrels in question actually made by the vendor or is it like for many other AR components that just several factories are actually make the lower or barrel in question for the entire industry.

I'm sure many are made and get whatever stamp the contract requires. I doubt there are 100+barrel manufacturers out there.

    On DD’s website;
One such investment took Daniel Defense to the heart of the rifle—the barrel. No Daniel Defense rifle would be complete without a state-of-the-art barrel. Daniel Defense is one of five companies worldwide that own and operate barrel production cells capable of producing Cold Hammer Forged rifle barrels. With the addition of a second Cold Hammer Forge machine in 2014, Daniel Defense is able to produce over 14,000 barrels a month in multiple calibers and configurations.

    Barrel manufacturers in the U.S.
    Rosco (oem manufacture)
    Criterion (oem manufacturer)
    DD
    Ruger
    Wilson
    ER Shaw
    PacNor
    Noveske (SS barrels only)
    Green Mountain
    Lothar
    YHM
    Pac Nor
    Hart
    Broughton
    Douglas
    Colt
    FN
    Faxon
    Ballistic advantage
    Seekins.
Im sure there are a few more out there that I might have missed but in the reality of just how many AR15 companies there are, this really isn’t a large amount of barrel manufacturers. Chances are your barrel came from one of about 20 companies.

Obviously there are more than 5 companies world wide that make cold hammer forged rifle barrels.

I've searched google images for barrel markings on all the companies listed above and then some.
Criterion and ar stoner(don't know who makes them) are the only ones with the deep print and the - in the 1-7.
But all the criterion barrels I saw images are marked with a prefix or suffix of CB or CBI
I would lead to maybe the manufacturer of ar stoner since there are no letterings on their stamped barrels.
Bear creek has the same deep font but uses 1:7.
All other companies are 1/7 and completely different font and location. Most stamped finely or done like silkscreen or laser

Maybe AR stoner, the bear creak that I have seen, and I have one, (not the picture below) all seem to have a usa marking behind the twist rate. Mystery continues.

I’ll check mine later and see what all mine say and see if we can narrow it down

Both my seekins barrels are marked with an SP before the chambering and twist rate. Stainless also has SS on it.
