    Let's see, an 12.24 pound rifle with suppressor and loaded mag, not to mention an MLOK system to snag on foilage and vines, etc. Now all we need is the cartridge manufacturer to change propellant...

    the new round looks like a necked down .308 if it is 6.8X51

    This makes a lot of sense from a logistics perspective. Use the same mag bodies and receivers as 7.62 NATO probably. So when 6.8 fails to become accepted by NATO they can just rebarrel all of the new crap in 7.62 NATO
