    Yeah, throw in a gutted AR mag and you got a brass catcher. To my understanding though, blowback 5.7s tend to bulge the cases too much for reloading due to the high extraction pressure. At least range cleanup is easy?

    The ammo would have to come down in price and I would have to think of something it does better than my other calibers. Maybe if the AP loading could purchased by civilians, otherwise I will pass, but yes it is interesting. One can pin and weld a long flash hider to make that 12 inch barrel legal.

    It will go through some body armor.

    Doesn't really pertain to this thread, but moreso the ammo, an FN five seven holds 5 more rounds than a Glock 19 and is lighter fully loaded. It's a cool round.

    But if it were made in a compact like the G19 with pistol with a 4 inch barrel, it would be going slower and less likely to achieve great feats of penetration. For use on the AR platform the 5.56 is superior. I would be comparing it to the 7.62x25 for pistol velocities.
