You're going to want a heavy hammer spring for the x39 primers. I wouldn't go with a light pull tactical trigger. PSA ept 2 stage first thing comes to mind. ALG. BCM PNT is a nice one but not sure if it's available in 2 atage
I recently sold a lower that had a rock river arms 2 stage and it was crisp.
+1 for ALG. its a spin off of Geissele, his daughters company. comes with a couple of different springs.

    +1 for these.
I have some of the others mentioned, but for the price and for what I use, Rise tends to be my go to. :)

I’m building a 7.62 x 39 AR and need a trigger. This is built as a rifle and likely will be scoped. I'll probably want a two stage trigger. Last few I’ve bought have either been Geissele or Elftmann, but it’s been long enough a number of other options have come on the market. Any suggestions on a quality trigger at perhaps a friendlier price point?

I’m not interested in any sort of fast reset or binary triggers.
Despite some of the things I've read, I've had good luck with Velocity triggers. Though I don't know about using one with x39.
The price is right at around $189.99, but it's a single stage.

Elftmann has a 9mm specific trigger. May talk with them and see what they say about 7.62. I don't run light triggers in any of my ar9s for the same reason. They are PSA ept. Never a hiccup, just not your hair trigger in pull.
My elftman pcc trigger in my ar-9 is about 2lbs on pull single stage. Has maybe a 1/4 of travel in all its pretty sweet.

All that high caliber getting shot fast exploding lungs and stuff.......
Yeah high caliber 16” weighing 4lbs 11oz with a 32 round mag that’s dry. Thinking of getting a extended base +20 lol so can have a really high capacity mag.

I like my G2S triggers for their hard wall and clean break, but recently stumbled across the Forward Controls Design 2-stage. Reviews are hard to find, but from FCD I would imagine it being a decent option? I like the price and the fact it looks to use factory springs as does the Geissele.

The ALG ACT trigger is a rebranded Schmid Tool and Industires fire control group. Schmid is an excellent company and makes selector switches and trigger groups for most of the mid tier and higher end companies. Look for the "s" on the hammer and trigger, its pretty clear in the ACT photos. Buy one from Brownells for $39 and mic it against the ACT . Add a set of JP springs (as recommended earlier) and a dab of Armite LP 250 and it makes for a very good trigger.

The pics below are from ALG and Schmid. Same photo other than trigger pins. Centurion sells Schmids 2 stage trigger (they add their arrow brand) for around a $100 but Aero has it for about $70.

May work on compiling a list of rebranded parts in the future.

Sorry, went off on a tangent. Velocity makes a very good trigger (former Timney dude) at a great price with mil discount. He has a PCC model if you need the extra ummph.

I'd have to look back and see if I've already mentioned it but rock River has a nice 2 stage. Just popped in my head reading the above post.
