If anyone has plans to go up 65 toward Birmingham in the next week or so I need a huge favor.

There's a R/C airplane in Clanton, just south of B-ham I am buying. The thing is too big to mail and would need a truck or SUV to haul it. The fuselage is just under 6' long and 20" tall. The wings come off and aren't all that big.

If anyone could bring this thing back for me I would gladly chip in for the gas, (money, powder, primers, 9mm ammo). It will take up some space so if you're already loaded there's no way, but if you're deadheading back I would appreciate the favor.

Thanks Sean, the guy said he'd hold it for a week or two. Now I need a couple of good 4 strokes, 50s to 70s.

    Yep, very nice.

Twin engine warbird. NOT a beginner's airplane. Tendency to bite you right on the ass if you let it get slow or lose an engine at the wrong time on takeoff.

And that is why I will install a gyro on the rudder channel, might give me that extra second or two to save it should one of the fans stop turning.

Asher is out till late July. Road trip? We could make it up and back easy in a day.

Haven't messed with gyros much and not in a while. Bet it would help. Wonder if the new systems can be programmed to cut the throttle if one engine drops rpm below a set threshold. I know the tachs are available.

It look's like Thresa's friend is going up to Alabaster, past Clanton, this weekend and she's going with her. The friend has some kind of little japwagon so they'll have to take the Expedition, if this pans out. Otherwise a road trip may be in order, only $100 in gas.

I'll probably be heading up that way in the next 2-3 weeks. GF is from there, and visits frequently. Her friend is actually driving down tomorrow, I'll check and see what type of car she drives.
