Thanks for all the great input!
I decided to go with a Maverick 88, 20 gu Youth, 22" barrel. (BX, $250) It's super light, and compact compared to my Winchester 1300, Youth (< slightly shorter stock) 12gu, 26".
I may try to purchase a 18.5 barrel for the 88, in the near future, but they are hard to find!

"I have been looking at Winchester SPX Defenders, and Stevens 320 Security models, but don't know the stock dimensions.
    Any assistance would be appreciated."

The Stevens employs a rotary bolt system which greatly aids in cycling effort. You should try it out. I believe it's the same system as the 1300.

I have both of these and if the Mossberg Maverick is to long for you, these will be too.

The older Winchester 1200's also have the rotary bolt system. I have a youth model in 20 ga w/ 20" bbl & factory Win-chokes. It is lightning fast!
