I was looking for some advice/help in identifying exactly what i have. This was my grandfather's gun which has been in the family for a while (mostly in a gun chest, now in a safe) The serial number 92xxx. The barrel says "sterlingworth fluid compressed steel" and says "A.H. Fox Gun Co Phila PA USA" The barrel length also measures in at about 26.5" if i can recall correctly. I did look at a few sites that seemed to indicate by the serial number that the gun was made around 1921, and the maker has over the years evolved to either ithica or lefever gun co?....i really dont know much about the world of shotguns So any help or info would be appreciated. If theres any other info needed, ill gladly gather it. I mainly need to know what the value is to decide whether or not i should do a pro restoration/keep it the way it is/etc. The gun is in great shape (although the buttplate is missing and was replaced years ago by a rubber buttstock/cover that had dryrotted onto the stock and has been a PITA trying to scrape off).
