I'm looking at getting a 30/06 rebored/rechambered and wanted to see if anyone had experience with the 9.3x62 chambering. How it shot? Any quirks loading for it or in its performance on game?
And yes I've looked at other chamberings that are more common ( the various whelens 35/375/400) and they just don't do it for me.

338 WinMag? More common at least
Ya but on this rifle action I think that may be too long or I'd likely just go for 300 win mag since I already load for it. I'd have to get the magnum too.

338 WinMag will fit any 3006 action IIRC
Won't lie I definitely thought there was more of a size difference there.
The other two issues though, magnum bolt and honestly just wanting to be a little different.

You might be thinking of 338 Lapua being bigger
