I bought three Colt branded 8-rd stainless steel mags with flush bottom plates from Midway USA. The markings indicate they're Checkmate mags. Nearly a year and maybe 30 rounds through each (my main handgun is a SA XDM45). No feed problem even once, and I always load 8. Mostly shooting WWB and some Winchester 230gr hollowpoints. They "feel" very smooth when you press down the follower, which is also stainless steel. I know I hear a lot about the big name mags, but I can't imagine them better than these. And the flush bottoms fit nicely. Oh, gun is a Colt XSE 5". In all fairness, it came with black 8-rd Checkmate mags. The followers seem rougher and grittier, in spite of many cleanings and lubing, but they've never failed either.
