Take a look at the powder manufacturers sites on line. Also RELOADERS NEST online. That will give you a good starting place.

Would also suggest bullets of 140gr MAX. The 120's and the like by Barnes(TSX,TTSX)are super killers. --- SAWMAN

I reload for 7mm08. I've loaded 100gr HP, 120gr SST, & 139gr SP. I have used up my IMR 4064 & now use Varget powder.
I used the data from Hornady & Speer manuals but had to go online to get the Varget data.
To start with, I re-size all brass, trim to length & then neck turn every one. The last batch I loaded was 10 each, 41, 42 & 43gr of Varget behind 120gr Ballistic Tips.
I then carefully load the bullet long & gently chamber to get an idea of where the bullet touches the lands, a magic marker helps.
I then continue to seat the bullet about .010 deeper than where it marked with the bolt fully closed.
All this & they all will print a .75 three shot group at 100yds. I like the lighter bullets, they're fast and accurate.
