I have a Blackwater 590A1 that accepts the OKC M9 Bayonet. But I'd like to replace the OKC M9 with the Carbon Steel OKC 3S. Has anyone mounted or attempted to mount the OKC 3S on the Standard 590A1 bayonet mount? I read conflicting reports when searching the net. Love some input from folks round here who have experience. Thanks.

I have both and the 3s is not a great fit on the tube. It does not seat deep enough for me. But it does seem to fit well enough for looking at just not well enough for its intended purpose. I can send You a picture if it helps.

Photo would help, Thank You. I'll save the 10 thousand fitting questions till then, sometimes a picture is worth a million words. No need for a pm, others may have this same question.

Thank You. It appears that the OKC 3S is a bit longer in the grip than an M9, which keeps it from seating properly. Is this actual, or an optic illusion?

Very much actual, I took the two separate bayo pictures for that reason. The comparison tells the tail.

Think it could be a tolerance thing? IE if I tried multiple different OKC 3S might I find one that worked prior to purchase, or are the specs just to far off for any of the OKC 3 S bayonets to function properly?

I don’t have an answer to that, I just have the one. But if you have the means to do that I really don’t think you will go wrong owning a few…..

I was thinking more like going to a store that had several OKC 3S Bayonets in stock and afixing them to the 590A1. If one fit properly than that would be the one I purchase. If none of the bayonets in stock worked, well then I guess it's time to call it quits? You & your photo convinced me that this is a hands on proposition. Ordering online sounds like to big a crap shoot. Thanks for help. BZ Sir.

Mine is too long too. Put the M9 on it in the safe and leave it on it, so there's no worries about somebody grabbing the wrong bayonet if/when it's needed

P.S. I'm sure somebody good with a welder and grinder can add some metal to the cap

Can you bend the ring back ever so slightly to get a deeper seat without sacrificing the intgrity of the metal?
