Q: Is this in anticipation of adding "assault weapons and mags" under the NFA? Maybe the gun grabbers feel a $200 per gun or mag isn't enough deterrent for people to turn them in. I think if folks had a mind to stach them @$200, they aren't going to be more inclined to comply$500. The $500 might chase people who were going to comply the other way.

As I said before: the Left owns the Fed gov Trifecta and are going to throw their every desire into Bills floated during their run. 21 More month till the next chance to turn seats over. Its going to be a bumpy ride till then!

When the Act was passed in the 30's $200.00 was A Lot of money. If there had been an inflation clause back then only the very wealthy would have them now. Going to $500.00 would definitely put a crimp in the industry.

The only people that could afford that were gangsters and politicians, but I repeat myself

What in the heck is this bill?

That proposed bill is from three Years ago. However, if the dems dust it off, it's even nastier than the $500 NFA stamp. It rapes the SOT price structure, increases firearms taxes to 20%, ammunition taxes to 50%, AOW stamp goes to $100, turns AR-pistols into regulated firearms, adjusts everything for COLA increases, and, of course, carves out the Fed exemptions so only the law-abiding peasants are affected.

    Yeah... "Unity".

At this time, the Dem's are talking about a $200.00 tax per year per item. Keep watching and let our Rep know this bill, if/when interduce should be voted down.

And the tax increase is for what, exactly?

Is the cost of maintaining their illegal database THAT expensive that they need a constant influx of cash from the people on the list every year?

Is criminal damage from criminal use of NFA items SO EXPENSIVE that they require the constant influx of cash from the legal owners?

^---- just two utterly absurd sarcastic "reasons" I made up.

The Real reason is PUNITIVE and PROHIBITIVE taxation just because they think they can.

I'm pretty sure we've seen this movie before. Opening credits were around 19 April, 1775...

Only $200? I expected it to be much more.

I was just about to say the same thing. Gas was like 25 cents per gallon then. Which would make tax stamps like $4,000+ now

Just remember... it was the NRA that said we don't need full autos and silencers anyways... and they laid back and let the American people for generations to come be raped of all the good stuff without fighting back. The NRA sold us down the river and didn't fight the NFA. Look it up. I only found out about it by reading antique pre-internet 1980's Guns and Ammo magazines railing against what the NRA had done/neglected to do. I'd be real interested to see what kind of stand against a tax stamp cost increase the NRA will be willing to take nowadays, if any. Oh yeah, and by the way, all y'all NRA members are already registered, by the NRA, which was started by the government, Union generals and the State of New York for the benefit of future killing fields. It regularly worked with legislators to restrict guns and gun owners until the 1970's with the invention of the ILA after an ATF raid went bad and killed an NRA member

For all those folks who berate the pistol braces and say "hey, it's just $200, so SBR it and be happy", I wonder how nonchalant they'd be if the tax stamp was in the thousands.

What price makes them realize the entire NFA (and GCA, etc, etc) is bullshift infringements?

What price makes enough people wake up and make the choice they aren't gonna take it anymore?

Obviously the suppressor industry can't go underground individual felonious builds overnight.

So, then, when do these forking infringements stop?

It's. It even the price for me it's the fact you have to register at all. But then you have the anti gunners or people who bow down to the government that use the excuse "you register your car, it's not a big deal"

    Yeah, those people are idiots.
They're comparing apples to lava rocks.

The right of the people to drive a car isn't specifically protected in the Bill of Rights.

(It isn't DENIED or specifically regulated either)

That would be nice to go right along with the brace ruling. I'm sure they'll get a lot of good, compliant Americans with that one.
