5.7 X 28 is the latest 22 round du jour. I have and can think of more 22 caliber rounds that can do much the same as the 5.7. The K 2000 in 9 MM is a 100+ yard accurate gun. It is also a man or animal stopper at that distance. I can't say that for the 5.7. The 5.7 cost per round is over $1.25. The 9 MM under .25 cents. I'm not being a buzz kill for the 5.7 fans. This is just how I see it practically speaking.

It certainly will be the cheapest 5.7 carbine on the market, and people will snatch it up just for that. MSRP of $511.

I don't see myself ever buying a gen three because I prefer the gen 2 iron sights

If Keltec can get their plastic to handle 5.7 chamber pressures then it can handle .357 Sig and 10mm pressures too... something I would consider

You can get ammo much cheaper. Fiocchi is making some decent stuff. Stay away from federal!

I don't have weights or capacity on the sub2k, but an FN pistol packs around the same punch or more depending on ammo and 23 RDS and is lighter than a Glock 17 with only 18rds. 5 more rounds and more versatile. I would assume the sub2k comparison from 9mm to 5.7 is similar.
Can't argue that 9mm ammo is cheaper and more plentiful.

This caliber is close to the cmr30 (22mag). Which can fire in a smaller package than the S2K. AND- they sell the P-50 (R50) in 5.7! Why bother?
Also, keltec tried the 357sig in a Sub-9, but it was mentioned that it was too much for the receiver, and that is why the S2K was never developed in .45.....
    They made the Sub-9 in 9mm, .40, and 357sig.
The Sub 2000 is made in 9mm and 40S&W

The Gen. 3 must be beefier somehow, because this 5.7 cartridge has higher pressure than 357 Sig by over 4,000 psi
I agree, I figured the hinge was the weak point. And adding a rotating barrel on the same hinge.....must be beefier. And the hinge lock more robust. Just speculation. I've only fondled gen3 s2k at the dealer.
