So I inherited this .410 from my grandpa and was wondering about it…. Is it rare, worth anything? Good solid shotgun. The net isn’t helping. TIA!!!

Just guessing but probably made in the 30's- 40's. There were many single barrel .410's sold at hardware stores during those years many didn't have serial numbers as they weren't required by law then. Every farm house had one behind the kitchen door for barnyard pests. I had a similar Winchester model 37 .410 that was made during the late 30's. Unfortunately it was stolen during a burglary at my residence about 40 years ago.

Your barrel caliber picture shows a 22S/L/LR JC Higgins Model 45(?) DL, but your title and description reads .410?

In that condition it's worth more in memories than money. I'd say $100 would be stretching it. Cracked stock, carvings, etched numbers, not good for value

Yea that’s my plan. To pass it on to my boys. As well as teach them on it. I was taught on one like it, it will definitely never get sold or traded!!!

I've got an old Iver stamped "Arms and Cycle Works", which I'm pretty sure is bicycles not motos. In real good condition, but I'm sure worth more to me than anyone else. The look is nearly identical, and I've seen a number from that era that are similar. Solid little guns.

Springfield Arms Company was a trade name used by the J Stevens Arms Company which was bought out by Savage...... the butt plate on your shotgun is not original. Remington Union Metallic cartridge
