Used up my doe tag tonight, shooting 110 grain Nosler Bonded out of my 18" Bison 6.8 AR. 117 yards, I think I will go back to the 110gr Sierra Pro Hunter BC they dropped them in their tracks without so much devastation. The lungs and heart simply ceased to exist, liquified...An exit wound existed and lung plugged the hole. The information exit was not large, leading me to believe that bullet exploded into frags inside ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417240092.740042.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417240106.639527.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1417240167.972937.jpg

That looks like a Accubond, not a partition. I have found the accubond to be more accurate in my guns than the Pro Hunters, but both will do the job. Congrats on kill.

You are right! Thanks, I thought they were partition but the were the Bonded, not accubond... Not sure the difference but man, like a little grenade went off in her chest cavity.

If that is a Accubond it seems a little "excessive" in the expansion department. The makeup of those bullets are similar to the Ballistic Tip(Hunting)bullets. Thicker jacket down low and a solid/thick base.

Wondering what the bullet hit going in. Did it happen to hit the shoulder or clip a upper rib ?? From what I hear the Accubond have a better history of killin' without undue meat damage than this. --- SAWMAN

I killed two Bucks last year with the 110 Accubonds and shot both thru the lungs and didn't see that much damage. Both didn't go 10 steps before piling. It does look like the bullet hit something besides skin going in as Sawman suggested. I would rather tear them up inside, than losing one. That looks like a 120 SST went through it.

Well let's try again, my eyes must not be working. This was a 100gr Nosler BONDED... don't know difference between accubond and bonded. I hit just behind the shoulder a little higher than Id like and crushed her ribs going in which Im wondering assisted in fragging her to pulp- she was quartered away and her exit was low behind shoulder as seen in pic. It seemed excessive to me too. I welcome any input. She literally took a step and piled up.

Thats the acubond bullet. All acubond bullets have the white polymer tip. They are designed to give the in flight performance of a ballistic tip and the terminal performance of a much tougher bullet. They still have rapid, front half, expansion like a ballistic tip due to the jacket being thin up front and thick in the rear but they retain their weightdont fragment like the ballistic tip does and they offer much deeper penetration. IMO they, along with the Hornady innerbond and Swift scirocco) are about the best big game hunting bullets made.

The regular performance bonded bullet is a protected lead tip bullet.

As far as the insides go its probably bone fragments. IMO theres no such thing as excessive internal damage. I want as kuch as possible.
