Beretta M9/92, is this normal? Possible crack?

Found this on another site. Pretty good explanation. Firing Pin Channel "Crack": It was explained that the "crack" originated when some early 92F pistols began cracking in that area. The reason they were cracking is that the safety body is larger on that side of the slide and therefore there...

      Model 12 Information Please

Come to find out there are different references for SN ranges due to a fire at Winchester Arms. After further research it is a 42 according to the Cody Firearm Museum/Winchester Arms Collectors Association.

      Model 12 Information Please

I believe it is the riot model also. It does have a hole that has been filled in on the buttstock where the sling mount would have been. Not sure what they used. I also believe the device was a post-war addition.

      Model 12 Information Please

I guess the next question is if the device should or could be removed.

      Model 12 Information Please

The more I am looking at this, it doesn't look like the barrel is cut at all. It looks like the choke device slips over the muzzle end and is soldered. When the wife gets moving around I will look for a tape measure. From my understanding, length is measured from a closed breech face, not...

      Model 12 Information Please

It appears as though all of those have been fitted with a new 'not winchester' barrel. That may be what the top barrel is off of. It has no markings at all visible or a SN stamp like the Winchester Barrels.

      Model 12 Information Please

I have tried doing a little research on my own and it looks like it is going to be a project. I have also found that some were used at on base skeet ranges or loaned out through MWR type places. I will see if I can find some Klien Sporting good ads or catalogues. May get lucky. Thanks.

      Model 12 Information Please

I recently inherited this Military Model 12 SN 973xxx. The SN is a 1943 production receiver with US and Flaming Bomb markings with a crossed cannon cartouche and WB on the stock. Of course the matching SN Barrel with Flaming Bomb Ordinance Markings is the one that has been cut and a Multi Choke...

      Winchester Model 12

I recently inherited a Model 12 that I am going to pick up from my mom's this weekend. I would like any input as to what I actually have. I will post pics this weekend. It has the 'flaming bomb' receiver and I have the correct SN barrel but it has been modified in the past with the heatshield...

      Hey

Hey. Long time shooter who is here to browse and hopefully learn some new things along the way. I recently lost my father who was a gunsmith for years and a walking firearm dictionary. We didn't have the best relationship but we could always talk about guns. Guess I'm here to reminisce some too...
