In my honest opinion Gulf Coast gun is good for ammo good selection but complete dipshits and assholes working there. I live within a 1 min walk and purchased over 15 guns last year never an option to go there and support that business. I second greyman quality firearms and best place for building a rifle. mikes in Pensacola is my go to for gun purchases knowledge is there fair prices will match prices and definitely good selection as well

    What happened at GCG? Curious.

Grey Man is a nice shop overall but I've had hot and cold experiences there. I need to get out to the Outpost, seems like a cool place.

Hot and cold is a great description. If you happen to visit when there are only one or two customers there, it's great. If there are lots of people then good luck. I've never seen GCG understaffed. Ever. They even have a dedicated background check guy there on weekends.

I have some free time coming up, and as a bonus I have $2000 from a settlement from my old employer. (They got sued for violating OT regulations back in California). Gulf Coast Guns in Milton and Tactical Precision are the only ones that carry a lot. Just looking for a place with large selection.

With my last few purchases, I have found that Gray Man Armory in Milton has the best prices on firearms in the area, even with places offering a 10% discount and places offering to pay your sales tax.
has the best selection of ammo in the area I have found.
Whatever you do, do not buy a gun from the gun show venders, unless you can get a better deal than the price on the price tag, IMHO.
As with most post on here this is my experience, and your experience with these venders may be different.

Trading Post pawn shop in FWB on Mary Esther has literally hundreds on display and more in the safe in the back. Jimmys is only good for blue label Glocks, they're a bit pricey otherwise.

One of my problems with them is their "tax free" garbage they pull. They make is seem like they are helping people out but what most dont realize is they jack up the prices to cover the taxes. I even called them on it when I discovered their online store was cheaper than their "tax free" prices in store. They offered to price match but even then, the online price was cheaper with tax and an instore pick-up option. They also price gauged during ammo shortages.

If you are just looking to put your hands on a bunch of different guns then that is the place to window shop.

My thoughts exactly and how I explain it to others in the area. Seriously but I do still buy minimum things there most I spent and cringed was on a 400 dollar holosun and light and hated forking them that kind of cash. Their opinions of firearms and why they don’t carry them and their personal opinions on value doesn’t line up with how the market is supposed to flow. They definitely price gouge on certain items that have a lower msrp very select. I also worked there at one time for 3 days never did paperwork or offered to pay me so I left and over a few common remarks would have seriously punched some people there. My experience may different than others but I don’t care I saw their true colors and plenty more local businesses that I can support.

Not a comfortable work environment and general consensus of people I know and have met that has shared same experiences so it confirms my beliefs. Always having to run promos to get people to come in with ok prices makes me question why. I’m a business professional and buying guns is investments and at the end of the day people buy from people they like and when you love guns you build relationships with stores and people. Good thing is everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I don’t necessarily tell people not to visit this location but I also tell them to expect a subpar experience nothing special. You get more business when you remember where you came from and not trying to be a local celebrity

I and many others have seen them go above and beyond to help people. Their current staff is all well educated dudes with backgrounds in all the worlds of firearms from LEO to competition. I see what your saying about the local celebrity part but it doesn't change the fact that they sell more than any other store around. Your judgments seemed to be solely based on your 3 day work bender before you quit.

My family served as well and the areas where they served people are people I respect our military but not all people are just deemed great people to me because of that. My family served in areas of OSI and some of the things they dealt with are worse than the streets. Cops same situation while those guys preach to not trust government.

Work situation I have a right to feel that way and that could have went negatively on the business if I pressed the issue. When an employee walks out there may be a reason why and the question is what was done to see why or if it could have been prevented that tells me how much a person cares about his employees and work environment he may like. At the end of the day local businesses need to also support the community and neighborhood they are located in. I may have been hard on the money and needed that for gas to get my 3 kids to school or put food on the table. Didn’t feel like I could count on the employer why count on them when I need to buy something.

Rant done if you know them personally I’m pretty sure they know where to find me and we can talk and put that in the past. they drive past me everyday seen me walk in the store never an attempt just a nose in the air and I laugh knowing I’m buying two boxes of ammo for the gun I’m going to pick up elsewhere. I provide assistance and guidance for 8 coworkers and 120 local stores that sell to the community I know about work environments and customer service. To each his own. My story has been heard and take what you want from it. Even if it is personal and your opinion is personal as well I think there is better options and I’ll continue to support the business that can provide me service at high levels just because guns are easy to sell doesn’t mean you can just say what you want. Me as a customer walks in wants a gun and no person should ever say that’s a bad choice or that isn’t worth anything. I’m also very knowledgeable in the industry and that’s why I love having options I spread my business through many stores locally and still a very minuscule portion there as well because they are in my neighborhood.

Oh and never think just because you sell the most you’ll always be on top. You never know when another store that can pop up and be bigger better and strive to become the best! Those guys may just be lucky because guns are easy to sell and some people may just overlook because of ease of availability and driven buy political views.
