Terrible news, I lost my hunting lease this past year I’d had for 25-26 years that joined my 20 acres where my home is, pulled lease from me for proposed solar farm, that solar farm is supposed to be approximately 3000 acres I was told and expecting things to get kicked off any day now with clear cutting. Well bad news gets worse, land surveyors have been seen south of us this week from Kansas and Virginia. Just found out that the same two timber companies I leased from is throwing more land in the pot for a massive solar farm, the hunting club that joined my former lease is losing 5500 acres now, along with some private land thrown in is fixing to be around 9000 acres now. Climate change and global warming will surely come with the loss of that much woodlands wiped out. People we vote for and elected are not reachable concerning the matter, politicians have been bought off. I could go on and on and on of everything my community has done to fight and stop this from happening for the past year and just learned how massive this solar farm looks to become. Protected wildlife species and plants as well as Native American artifacts are abundant and will be lost forever. Sad sad news for us.

Millions and millions of our tax dollars we’re speaking of here. Our county commissioners have all agreed to vote that they will not give them tax abatements and the county school board has also told them that they don’t want any share of taxes they’d offer the county. So much money involved that it’s not deterring or stopping them. Rumors have it there are several more locations proposed in our county. This solar $h:t is all a ponzy scheme and part of the lefts new green deal. Someway somehow this nightmare needs to be stopped. There is already one solar plant at south end of the county in the Wing area, it’s around 1000 acres, nobody has seen any decline or credit on there power bill since that farm went operational and probably never will. Biden and his cronies are destroying this country so d@mn fast I don’t believe we will make it if Donald Trump doesn’t go back in the White House.

My turn to gripe. I have solar electric panels on my house. The electricity supplier instituted a solar recovery charge to make up for lost revenue. The monthly solar recovery charge is now higher than the value of the electricity my house makes!!! My electric bill would be lower if I did not have solar! Both the CEO of my electric co-op and PowerSouth verified the math of my bill and my calculations. They have not offered nor suggested any solution. They won’t allow me to simply flip the circuit breaker to disconnect as they feel I could cheat and turn it back on. I stumbled upon two other customers on Facebook in the same recovery charge situation.

Tentatively about March 13-14th, a technician I know will come and remove the connection between my system and the grid, not harming the system itself. This will stop the recovery charge beginning with the next billing period starting the 15th. Without going into minute details, the solar equipment I already have will allow taking some of my electric needs off grid saving more. I just finished a one week test powering some items off grid 24/7. It did tell me I need to add at least one more kWH (but two kWH would be better) storage to my batteries to get through 2 poor solar days due to clouds and rain. I checked with the two makers of my primary equipment and they verified what they made can handle being used off grid indefinitely and offered a few suggestions to be aware of to make it even easier on my equipment.

One of the farms next to my deer lease in Calhoun County GA was leased out and converted to a solar energy source.

The owner was getting somewhere in the neighborhood of $225 per acre renting the land to farm. The solar company pays $400 or so an acre annually.

Fortunately our landowner has no desire to see his land converted to a solar panel array.

the ecocide committed in the name of green energy is far worse than the evils they're supposed to be curing... they don't even think about all the creatures they will displace in the name of "clean energy". where are all the ecowarriors promoting green when it comes to flora and fawna? at home in mums basement drinking mountain dew berry blast and eating microwaved vegan pizzas...

Remember where all these solar panels are manufactured: China. Think Hunter and CEFC!

that is the next county over from me. They are gobbling up the south and east of our county too. Going up I75 from here to Macon there is a terrific amount along the Interstate. I understand the soil recovery time if removed will not be in our lifetime.

People that live in cities want electricity, they don’t care where it comes from or who it hurts. Most of them are internet warriors and Liberals with very biased opinions about life in general.

The herbicide treatments I’ve been told are bad for our environment, run off in the streams and rivers , not good for those still using a deep well. And no fire departments around that can fight a fire should one break out

There are at least 3 of these blights in Calhoun. Probably more, I just have not seen them.
