And that's how you become a felon!
Well I'd rather be a felon than dead, so there's that... again, we're talking an extremely low risk scenario for the average law abiding gun owner. Also, my right to self defense and preservation of life does not stop because I might be intoxicated.

I may or may not be correct here. But I'll be alive to find out which.

    They scooped him up.
Police said Tuifua was arrested at his home on Friday.

I would think these are some pretty serious charges if it were me and you. Something tells me he will be let off Scott free or a lesser charge will save his ass.

Don't drink, save lots of money, live a longer healthier life, don't ever have to worry about becoming a felon at a bar with a gun. Win win win

Typically only drink at home, or the occasional beer out at restaurants. Seen too many people screw up their lives royally after one “fun night out.”

That said, I’m with John and Rebel. Carry everywhere.

I have a question. Lets say i had a few drinks at home before bed. I get a home invasion in the middle of the night and have to defend myself with a firearm. Am i breaking the law?

Florida Statutes forbids the carrying of a firearm into into a place where alcohol is sold for consumption on the premises, if sale of alcohol is the primary business. In other words, you can carry in a restaurant, where alcohol is served, but not in a bar. The law is quite clear on this. This guy was a complete idiot. In addition, I don.t believe that he had a CCW license. Talk about Felony Stupid.

Under Florida Law, a person is not allowed to carry firearms inside an establishment whose main purpose is to sell alcohol. For example, if you go into a restaurant with a bar you cannot carry a firearm in the bar area, only the dining area.
