I was going thru the pictures on my phone, deleting ones I don’t need and forgot that I took these.
I happen to stop by the Creighton Road Walmart one night when they were clearing out ammo. This was probably at the end of 2019 or early 2020.
I bought around $200 worth. Should have bought it all but I’ve got a thing about leaving some for the next guy.

I didn't leave any for the next guy , I bought all they had in 3 deferent walmarts in the Tallahassee area . The guys bitching about gouging wouldn't buy ammo when it was available . When things get back to normal they still won't buy any to keep for the lean times because they will be paying $500 a day to be entertained by yet another big name trainer, most of whom have never been in a real life gun fight . Between training and buying the latest 511 clothes and duty boots they have little or no money left for ammo stock piling . Life is about choices they've made theirs and I've made mine , I just choose not to piss and moan about the choices they made . To each his own .

    Congratulations Sir.

Only thing I bitch about is how unfathomable it is to me that chainsmoking clogged artery nasties think ammo hoarding will one day save their life. But they’re too lazy to actually learn to use the shit they’ve got or prioritize actual threats.
    But whatever, choices are choices.
I do also think daily trips to a retailer to purposefully create a shortage of shit you don’t need and won’t actually use is greedy and opportunist. But I suppose capitalism is a double edged sword. As an economist by education, I get it. The one thing that holds true is that the market always corrects itself so I suppose it’s as much on the retailer as it is on anyone else.

I do shoot on a regular basis and I’ve got what I need for quite some time, even before topping off thanks to a buddy recently so I don’t really care either way but I do think it’s kind of disgusting especially in such a small and what used to be tight and close community.

All my 5.11 shit is issued and I get paid to wear it, so I’m sorry if the agency’s fashion choices are not to your liking.

    But that’s just me.

I'm sick... already had a good stock, but I sure missed that clearinghouse sale. Would have bought some if I had seen it. Agree with Rebel_Rider1969... Ahhh, the good ole days!

It would appear that you are doing the job that you chose and that you've been paid to do . Perhaps someday you'll get to use those skills to save the lives of some of the taxpayers that pay the taxes that allow your agency to pay your salary.

I just happened to stop in there on the way home from work to pick up something else and cruised thru sporting goods.
    It was just dumb luck.

Post "Parkland", Wally's plan to eliminate all stocks of ammo for evil guns was well known in advance. We discussed it in a few Threads and it was just a matter of being at the Store when the price drop hit. When ammo is a great deal, you buy what you can. I would speculate those prices would bring in the "die hard" wally haters. Lol.

I really don't care what someone does with their property. Shoot it, store it, sell it or a mix. When I kick the bucket it won't be because my ammo stock was depleted. It seems everyone is taking a position on what "they think" the future holds in store for the short, mid and long term. Place your bets and I hope you all do well.

I hold to capitalism with religious convictions. It would not be an overstatement to say that capitalism is God’s economic system, in my opinion, and I fully understand that this is just my opinion, but I think it’s a defensible position. As such, I don’t see the ammo shortage as a bad thing in the long run. Certainly, if you need ammo right now and can’t get it, then that’s bad, but for the long run, that is exactly what will increase production and availability and bring down prices. Capitalism always self corrects for over demand or under demand. High demand and high prices act as incentives for new manufacturers to enter the market thereby meeting demand and lowering prices. The current gas prices are a case in point. Fracking and other technologies increased supply thereby reducing prices. The current demand for guns and ammo will do the same thing if the Marxists are not allowed to take over. We’ll see!

since he patrols my streets and not yours, paid by again my taxes not yours,
I hope he has a long boring career that when done, can best be described as a total waste of time/money/training.
I hope the combat and long range competitions he participated in on his own dime only ever pan out to entertainment value.
I hope the 5.11’s weren’t at the expense of a yearly cola, or working radios. I hope no one takes a gigantic shit on his for sale thread one day because he was knees deep in literal shit water trying to help a bunch of people who will later start a thread blasting hurricane response times because they don’t understand risk assessment. I hope no one calls him a satanic tyrant because they disagreed with the law he enforced while being video taped.
And I hope that when he runs low or wants a box of ammo to acquaint with whatever new whizz-bang gun his boss picked to replace his duty weapon, some dealer isn’t clearing the shelf ahead of him to re-sell for double, while smugly stating he should bought when the buying was good.

There's a lot of judgement in there to end with "to each his own." I'm still trying to figure out how people who've never been in a gunfight can't teach you to prepare for one. Do the people who've been in combat all come up with a new system on 2 way ranges, or do you think they relied on their training? I know of one person that has never seen combat, but his skills in competition were enough to get him a job teaching door kickers.

aren’t opinions great ? I’m pleased you saw fit to post yours . I was unaware that his agency did not supply ammunition for his new wizz bang weapon. In this area they are issued more than many of them use , I bought many boxes from individual officers that were issued for them to practice with. Hopefully his boss will see this post and correct this error in judgment and supply all his personal the proper supplies to do their job properly. It makes me wonder if there’ enough tax money being collected to pay for proper supplies or if it’s just poor management of available funds . At any rate it should be look in to and corrected.
Thanks Again for taking the time to state your opinion on this situation.

Trainers that have never been in combat,ESPECIALLY AT THE CLOSER RANGES (<50yds) should stick with teaching marksmanship ONLY. This would still be a noble profession. It would be a type of training that should be desired by the many.
But to branch out from that, into the mental aspect,or the specific tactics involved is IMO,overstepping your ability to effectively train. To effectively prepare the (your) student.
Sure . . . teach them the basics of shooting from cover, shooting while moving, scanning for threats, etc. But the trainer should only teach the "critical stuff" if EXPIERANCE" has taught him.
Please understand,I am not saying don't train. Just train wisely. --- SAWMAN

I mentioned one of my professions in response to a particularly fashion conscious and seemingly confused forum member’s comment.

However, I won’t derail this thread further by discussing my employment, but I do appreciate the concern and support.

Feel free to PM me if anybody would like specific details about law enforcement. We are always looking for qualified candidates. Thanks.
