I looked for many years for the perfect carry gun (Subjective, perfect for me). And I went thru allot of them. I have a G19, G23, G43 and my G26. Completely stock and in my opinion it is the BEST (For me) carry gun I have found ! Not saying I wouldn’t carry anything else and I have lots of nice options. But it would only be because I could not get to my G26.

do NOT use those X-grip sleeves. i found out the hard way on a tac reload... had a giant blood blister on my palm where it pinched the crap outta my hand! my brother in-law has carried a gen 3 G26 for like 15yrs now. its a bit thick and a tad short for me though. prefer my G48 or even an old G43 for real concealment.

I stopped counting and caring after G#30. Really prefer pistols with actual manual safeties or a decocker.

When someone is shooting at you is the only time you will need a tactical reload and a blood blister will be the last thing on your mind brother. Lol I love my X-Grips

Lot of better options for a carry piece out there these days, IMO. If I weren't carrying one of Glock's smaller offerings (43 or 43X), I'd just go up to a 19 - especially since you're already considering using 19 mags in it. The G26 is in a weird place right now.

If it's pulling double duty as a CCW / pest control piece, I'd just go 19 anyway. Just my .02, as JJ says.

I have a Gen 3 26 with an extra lone wolf threaded barrel if you are interested.
Under 400 rds, about 200 suppressed. Runs great with night sights.

Not a fan of Glock 9 mm, concealed or not. For concealed carry in 9 mm I'd recommend the Springfield Hellcat. YMMV. But it takes a little extra practice time with the unique tritium night sight setup. JMHO YMMV. Take the time to play with a Hellcat, either rental or with someone that has one. It may change your opinion of the G-26 for CCW. Every firearm task will have specific requirements that lend themselves to optimal firearms. Utility firearms don't excell at any specific firearms tasking. JMHO YMMV.

Was bidding on an optics slide but lost at the last 10 seconds. Stupid feebay.
Don't have the pistol in hand yet a trade deal scheduled for my return. Wanted to get parts ready before getting home.
I do like the mag compatibility. Standard mags not some $45 ones.

Thought about getting a g19 slide for it?
The G26 frame might be too small for your hands. Rent or borrow first. I really like the idea of a full to medium size slide with a small frame. I alternate between G19 and G48 based on who Im keeping company with at the moment and what they carry, for mag compatibility. If it was up to me it'd be a G19 all the time

Yep - This is where Im at with Glocks as well. The perfect fame length- just alternating on how fat I want the gun. :)

The 26 was just a little too small for me.

There's an insert that goes under the slide so the gap is covered when using the g19 slide. May build a 26x. Something to tinker with.

Of the few brands I have the x-grip is the best
I used the inserts enough to where I just quit with the inserts and went back to G19
