I got one of those, with a legit shaved Colt 605 upper. Love that thing, yours looks great!
605s were made using a variety of uppers (603s, 604s, and shaved 603s). The 605 upper was dubbed that by collectors, not Colt. Of course, many know that the original 605s were short lived due to cycling issues related to extreme weather conditions. Part of the cycling issue was the fact that colt never thought to open up the gas port to account for the 5" removed from the original 20" barrels. There was not enough gas flow as most of it was escaping from muzzle since the muzzle was much closer to the gas port. Fortunately, some people figured this out and cloners starting have the gas ports enlarged to around .110" to ensure they cycled properly.

Mine was originally assembled as a 604 with an MVP 12 barrel with cast sight base, like a dummy I sold the barrel to one of the guys on the retro forum for a 602 build.
