I was at home with Covid for awhile and decided to attempt a camo job on my 870 turkey gun. Here’s my final color product. Now I’m going to wait a month or so to cure and then seal her up.

Attached are 3 firearms I made custom Red Cedar grips for. Hurricane Sally knocked a few limbs out of the cedar tree behind my shop and when I cut into the first one to haul then out to the road I just couldn't let the county make mulch from it. The grain and color where too amazing. On the right pieces it actually has a holographic shifting effect to the grain like the old baseball cards. I'm still processing cedar that has been cut down and I come haul off so I can keep the wood. Just the grips got me planning to build a small chainsaw lumber mill in my yard where I can process up to 24"-26" in diameter pieces, the length doesn't matter. Just gotta be able to get the chainsaw through it. And I'm rebuilding a Stihl MS046 that will take up to a 32" bar to use on the mill. But you don't want the whole bar buried in the cut. I'm hoping to make a few stocks to. In going to try it out on my Luger 10/22 first.

The first is a buddies .32 revolver that he got free. And sold for $400 after we cleaned it up and put the new grips on.

The dark colored frame is a Bersa 84 Lusbar I put the cedar grips on and gave my daughter for Christmas. It was a government issued weapon in Argentina that never saw duty and came packed in grease in a mass shipment. We cleaned the grease out and made sure it was all working properly then I added the grips. In classic Bersa style you have to cock the hammer before you can rack the slide on the first round. After that the blowback does it for you. Never have been able to find out if that's fine a kink in their guns or if there is a way to fix that. Seems you should be able to rack the slide and cock the hammer back at the same time. But not with any I have seen.

The small silver frame is a Raven P-25 from the early to mid 70's. It's the very first model Raven Firearms put out before they where gutted by fire and sold off to his ex wife, children and floor manager who purchased his designs as well as the company and continued to make multiple generations of this model with slight differences and periodic changes to the model number.

How you guys like how they turned out. Each has a tung oil rubbed finish and after 2 weeks curing where coated with Spray shillac and let cure another 72 hours.

Inspiring! I have some black walnut, and I've been wanting different grips on my DA38.

I had a Mossberg 500 that had 3 barrels; smooth, slug & .50 muzzleloader. I did a similar camo job and matched all 3 barrels. Time consuming, but satisfying. Looks good
