Please keep for sale posts on topic and respectful, there will be zero tolerance for disparaging remarks and derailing of for sale threads. If you are not an interested buyer, please refrain from posting in a seller’s ad. Also try to utilize private messages when practical.

    1.
You must include a price on all items for sale, no auctioning.

    2. If you are looking for a trade you must include a realistic trade value for your item even if you aren't interested in selling.

    3. Do not remove items or prices after the item sells; prior sales will help other members to gauge the value of items.

    4. No advertising is to be posted in this forum, this area is for actual guns for sale only. Gun deals belong in the gun deals section.

    5. Include your LOCATION and PRICE (required) when posting your item for sale, this will help other members to gauge how interested they are.

    6. No Linking to items for sale outside of this forum. That means no linking to listings on Facebook, Craigslist, Armslist, eBay, Gunbroker, other forums, etc.

    7. No “bumping” of your listing more than once every 24 hours, or if the listing is still on the front page of that section (first 20 posts) even if 24 hours has already elapsed. That includes updates such as price drops, additional items, details, photos, etc. Just update your original post instead.

    8. Please edit your thread title to add *SOLD* to the beginning when the item is no longer for sale. Please do not create a new post in your thread to advise it is sold, as this “bumps” an item no longer available back to the top.

    9. You must include at least 1 picture of the item, in your possession, that you are selling! That means not just photos you got off the internet.

    10. All potential buyers are responsible for conducting their OWN DUE DILIGENCE regarding the functionality, efficiency and overall quality of any listed item for sale.
It is not appropriate for members to post their positive or negative experiences with a product or seller/buyer on a for-sale thread. These reviews, while valued, must be posted in the appropriate section of the forum.

If you see any issues, please use the “report” feature to notify moderators/administrators and we will take care of it.

I hope the fields are mandatory like an order form or you can't post. I don't particularly like the babysitting of add a price or location posts. Just delete it if it doesn't follow the rules. It will eventually take care of it self when people realize thier ads are disappearing.

Because the "mods" don't run the software or forum layout and are only responsible for maintaining order, decorum and cleanliness... your mileage may vary.

I'd say that would be the feedback forum.
Probably ought to conduct these kinda things through moderation before going wide on open forum. Several of these feedback type posts lately quickly turn into a he said he said situation and the profanity and name calling ensues.

Hi there, I'm very new to the forum and I want to be sure I follow the guidelines. I've bought and sold a couple of my personal guns on here already and it went very well. Now I'm selling the gun collection for the widow of a friend who died recently. 70+ guns, both modern and antique. I asked for help establishing values for the guns that are 100 years old. I'm an NRA instructor and have been buying and selling for decades, but I'm a shooter not a collector. I need help on the value of the antiques. I've posted this announcement in the classified forum and mentioned the lower range of prices, as well as my location in Panama City. My intent was the meet the requirement of price and location. What I'm doing is emailing the list to those who respond (I split it up into a couple of large documents with photos). Is that acceptable? Can I communicate via email with these members about values? I sincerely want to operate within the forum guidelines.

Another question is whether there is a special forum just for discussing values. Eventually I'll post several of these guns individually for sale on the forum. There are maybe only 6-8 of the guns that I need help with setting a good price for the widow. One guy posted a link to a gun store in Texas that can do appraisals, consignment, etc. I may eventually have to resort to hiring a professional for some of them if I don't think I can do the best for the widow on my own. Thanks.

So your first post asking for values was posted in the for sale section of the classifieds. Thats not a discussion area but a for sale section. The general gun talk section (where your thread was moved to) is the correct spot for discussion about values. Private messages should be used as often as possible to keep your thread from being bumped to the top of the section where posted. Many members have a huge amount of knowledge and are happy to help. Best way is to ask for messages from them and go from there. You're doing a great thing helping the widow and even though I don't know her or her late husband, I thank you for that.
