It's the ability buy and sell that is the easiest to go after without congress. He can't levy taxes, but he can change definition and require "reasonable" fees for government permitting/approval. If you think ammo is expensive and scarce now, wait until the Hazmat fee goes through the roof and it requires 50 pages of paperwork to ship a box of ammo.

I'm wondering other than walking out with the gun, what the purpose of the permit really is... still waited like the other fellas with no permit..

Not sure I understand the question. But I will say, the one time I was frisked (illegally), by a County Mounty in Jackson County, I sure was glad I had my CCP.

My guess is that Uncle Joe is going big...foreign ammo, foreign parts kits (AK), foreign rifle caliber pistols (drako style). I don’t think he has legal standing for anything else made here, but would not surprise me if he tried, kinda like going after ghost guns....

A CC Permit/License will normally make your check & approval very fast and be able to leave with the firearm thereafter. It's not going to give you "Head of the Line" privileges for the NICS or State phone call waiting line backlog. Its great more guns are beiong sold but the pretty stable high demand does slow the Systems down. The Dealer probably knows/estimate turnaround time, If its local, I'll just ask he to call when complete; then pick it up later. The delays are a PITA for dealers as working the phone is time not working other customers (for $5 lousy bucks).

Using your social makes the process smoother. I've talked to people who refuse to put it on there. Hey.....they are the government, they can get your social.

I've never had to wait, even when some weren't coming back in 24hrs. Mines always been instant. Shocks whoever is doing it.
