Waking up a sleepy thread. Airguns that break the sound barrier make noise as the pellet leaves the rifle/gun. My .177 air rifle is around 900 FPS and it does make noise, almost like a .22. At 50 yards it'll demolish a bottle cap from a water bottle.

I am sure you have fine air gun, but 900 fps it does not break any sound barrier that we have around here. I have no doubt that it is noisy.

Best idea in regards to airgun hunting is the benjamin bulldog .357. Literally designed for hunting.
Energy at hundred yards may be doable buttttttt most videos show a lot closer range and impressive levels of performance on game.
So far as floridas laws, check with fwc. Fairly certain hog is legal.

A friend of mine killed a doe at 43 yds with his air rifle, an Air Force Texan shooting an all lead projectile at 1000 fps. He had a complete pass through. The projectile was 290 grain HP if I recall and looked a lot like the old style REAL muzzle loader bullets with lots of grooves. His was suppressed but still sounded like a framing nailer when fired
