What scope zoom do you use for hunting?

I'm particularly fond of 3x, 4x, 1.5x4.5, 2x7. Seem to work well for the shorter ranges I shoot at - under 200 yards.
I like the fixed magnification ones. Less fiddling, wider field of view.
What yall think?

I like 2-7 scopes or similar for ranges I hunt at. I do also use 1x red dots on some rifles with just a magnifier if Im up in a tree for example.

The " tactical" 3x prism sights work good too. Lots of light.

old woodchuck shooter 9x and i wanted 12 x for 400 yarders [243 win] old redfield scope ,on my 300 winmag its 9 x always or the see through mounts in heavy brush

3X9 if it’s not set on three then it’s on 9. I don’t remember ever using any other setting.

to be young again with some what good eye sight ....sigh......in a month i have to take a florida drivers eye test too

I don't ever have to shoot very far but my 2 main hunting scopes are a Hawke 3 X 12 X 56 and a 20 years old 4 X 12 X 56 Kahles.

I guess it's time for all the "Bambi slayers" to be getting ready , and I'm sure all those with variable scopes that use that feature because of different distances available have checked their POA / POI at the different X settings .

Very good point. Yet another reason for fixed power. Most hunters don't shoot enough.

I really use the zoom in to make sure of points and or that nice fat camp meat doe has no nubs.
