My lease that I lost had lots of crab apple trees on the place, I spent many hours sitting up close to them and never saw a deer come to those, but I’ve heard too that deer like apples. I know for a fact they like pears, watch them here at the house eating pears that’s fallen on the ground.

We have persimmon trees scattered around the farm and the deer like them , but I’ve never seen one eating crab apples either.

Biggest buck ever taken off my family’s property was shot by my dad under a pear tree out in the wide open, 100 yards or more from any type of cover. Been one of the high producing stands on the property. The pear tree seems to draw them in like a magnet, even in broad daylight in the middle of an open area.
