I decided awhile back to get into 327 federal. I bought a ruger sp101, and a taurus 85 snub nose for the wife. I am tempted to buy a t/c contender frame and order a rifle barrel. But i noticed that the henry uses a 1:16 twist. I found a barrel at mgm, but it is 1:10 twist. I plan on experimenting with handloads from subsonic for plinking and small game all the way up to full power loads. In a 70-120 grain bullet, will I still get decent accuracy? Or should I just buy a henry?

Check the twist rates of other bbl suppliers. How about a Bullberry ??
IMO . . . faster twist is better. There is a huge difference in rotational velocity between a 10 twist and a 16 twist. Especially in 18+ inches of bbl. --- SAWMAN

I checked bulberry and it gets weirder. They also have 1:10 twist, but a .308 barrel. That's why I settled on mgm. I think its a .311 barrel. So faster twist is better? Cool

Yeah . . . i'm a believer in the "you can't over spin a bullet" theory. Especially at pistol vels. Even out of longer bbls.
You ought to give the true 7.62X39 bullets a try out of that single shot. You might even get the heavier 303 British bullets to shoot good. These bullets in the surplus or pulled form might just be for some cheap shooting. --- SAWMAN

Thanks, Daezee wouldn't happen to be an older gentleman that has a small stand at the far left corner of the pensacola gun show, would he?

Although I have a "few" .327 and 32 H&R magnums, all are revolvers, and I have no idea of what twist rates they have.
