If some of you guys are on the fence about jumping into the AK world and researched it a bit, you'll know that most American made AKs are lacking.
However, most American made receivers are GTG and so long as it is built on a combloc parts kit you should not have any problems. All combloc made guns still being the preferred but they are getting pricey.

Above is just one example of a nice offering classic has on a combloc parts kit built onto an American receiver. Good parts kit built on by an up an coming American builder using their in house receivers.
Reasons even WASRs are about 600 bucks now is cause they are all Romanian made rifles made in a factory that produces for both military use and civilian export. Also a reason they get a bad rap when someone at Century has a bad day and messes up the final assembly and modifications to make it an actual AK variant.
They also have some full AMD builds on Hungarian FEG receivers for sub 500 bucks!! They are a close enough clone to the military version and easy enough to sbr if you ever wanted a real deal clone.
Sub $500 for a foreign factory made AK is awesome!!! Downside being the U.S. made barrels which from what I can gather are green mountain non chrome lined ones. Not as good as an original barrel but most wont notice or shoot enough to know the difference.
