I had a tenant vacated one of my rental properties, I went by to look at what I needed to do as far as clean up and work. Found an old Colt revolver.

On the barrel it says Colt 1864 Navy 44 cal. The 1864 is a little hard to make out, but I think that's what it says. It's not complete but I might go back by tomorrow whenever I get more time to search for other parts. Any ideas about this, is it just junk? Is it worth repairing? Is it even legal for me to keep it? The tenant upon leaving said anything and everything they left behind I could have and believe me their is a lot of JUNK.

ETA- they also left me a Wrecker truck and a car

I don't know the first thing about black powder though. I'm hoping to find more tomorrow.
I'd be their now but the wife's out of town at a conference and I'm alone with kids.
If you saw the mess they left me, I definitely didn't win.
Snagged some sort of trigger assembly also. Although the more I look at it, it looks like junk off of a pellet rifle or something, I just grabbed because it was beside the Colt and you never know.

It probably is a reproduction, it's just an interesting find. I'll let my imagination run wild though

Curious though, how would I be sure? Are their markings?

Did you get a bill of sale for the truck and car?

They said they will come back and get the tow truck. The car is junk, seats missing, the windows are down, I don't even know if it has windows honestly, but it's worth scrap metal pricing. I'm paying to get a lot of it removed.
