Saw two new guns that look promising. The Caracal 9mm has a low mass slide and the rear sight is installed in front of the breach creating a single focal plane with front sight, and a low-bore axis resulting in less muzzle flip. It is made in Dubai but appears to be of high quality, but it is new and of course "it has already been thoroughly torture tested" to prove itself.

The CZ-P07 Tactical also has a low bore axis, has suppressor NIGHT sights, a threaded barrel with protector ready for a suppressor, but has a hammer and thus double action/single action trigger. Trigger on this gun isn't great but apparently CAJUN Gun Works does wonders on CZs with their trigger package although with a significant cost of about $300, but it said to be "really sweet."

Guess looking at apples and oranges, but seeking info you may have garnered about these.

Caracal I'm skeptical after their last batch had to be recalled and caused a slew of problems. Compound that with lack of aftermarket support and being made in the UAE getting parts and holster will be a challenge.

The P-07 Tactical is a great gun, I had a 1st Gen P07 and enjoyed it. The low slide mass was nice and it shot like a Metal Gun. Cajun Gun works does great work and rivals CZ's Custom shop and their springs tend to be a bit more robust. If you're feeling brave then you can lighten the DA pull by replacing the main spring which will get the DA pull down several pounds without breaking the bank.

Its hard to flip a coin when CZ has three top guns in the Shadow II, Sport and Tactical.

I skipped the Caracal because it, like several other recent import designs still are not up to standards. They may be okay at their price point but not exceptional enough to draw sales from other known quaity brands. IMHO. It sure makes you wonder when someone is hot to trot about buying in this category then you see the same person listing "it" for sale a few weeks later. Newer guns hitting the used market quickly is often a bad sign.

Haven't found any dealers listed on their website actually stocking them yet, but one in Ohio said they should be getting some in by next week.
