I seriously doubt that he intentionally traded me a fake. But so many members demanded to know where it came from.

The fake EOTech came from the ad for ar armalite currently on page 24, 13 August of firearms for sale. My local gun shop confirmed what I already knew, it's fake.

Okay then, Thanks for letting us know. I recant my BS post, Rick has re-enlightened me on his integrity. He is a top notch feller. But the seller still should have spoke up, regardless. Thanks Rick.

Intentional or otherwise? Like someone forgot, or lost an address, or didn't know something was fake? What is the proper procedure for bringing the facts to light? Talking directly to the forgetful thief, or posting it on a forum?

So many used guns get passed around these days, the seller could have purchased the gun with the fake one on it maybe? Not taking up for the seller, but it’s definitely in the realm of possibility the seller purchased the gun as is and had no idea it was fake either.

Now granted, he should have already spoke up and offered to make the deal right. End of story.

For me/about me - - -> Weather I bought the EOT thinking it was the real deal or not is immaterial. If I sold it as the real deal then the buyer found out it was a fake . . I (me) would do something to make it right.
IOW . . . if I was fooled into fooling another member I would be responsible to the member that I fooled. --- SAWMAN

PROOF Seller gambler227 sold a FAKE EOTech! First Link is his ad. Expand the image of the optic on the rifle. First, the yellow Caution marking is missing. Second and more inportant is what IS there! I can't enlarge it enough to read the For Law Enforce ment /Miliitay Use" But I can see how close those marking start near the front edge of the Hood. The marking on a REAL EOTech start well away from that edge!

This is a the optic as Sold on the rifle. Pic copied from gambler227 Ad:

    This is a FAKE:

    This is a AUTHENTIC EOTech:
    1054_1353611071_large.jpeg

The Seller, gambler227 ad shows all items including a reflex optic referenced as a EOTech. Two hours latter he adds another Post with a screen shot ad of a REAL EOTech 552 @ $569. Obviously advertising a Authentic EOTech in support of the total asking price.

Based on the above, the Item sold was a counterfeit. OP's original Post is accurate.

Yes it is. I had a buyer lined up for i800. That's how I found out it was fake. The buyer knew more about eotechs than I do buyer backed out and I texted the original seller with no positive results.

Just saw this... Rick did message me via text and I am trying to see what I can do to fix the situation. I haven't been on here much with everything going on so I just heard of this post when a member left me a message....
I honestly had no idea that there were fake sights or that this was one... I wouldn't even try to sell anything fake if I knew of it. Why would I, especially on a sight full of gun gurus and specialist. As I said I am trying to see what I can do to make this right... I've never had bad reviews or negative transactions...

Oh and for the "internet lawyer" thinking about legalities of selling counterfeit items, get a life. This was unknown and marked as real, the intention isnt there.

I guess I'm chalking this up to a lesson learned moment. I honestly thought we ran an open and honest forum here. Anyone interested in a FAKE EOTech? I don't need it and I'm still stuck with it.

Don't blame the whole forum because one member did not do what was right.

Was it advertised as real when you bought it?

YES! gambler used a EOTech ad with price info to push it as real. When the buyer found it was a fake an contacted him, the seller said the buyer could have switched it to scam him!!! However, if you look at the actual optic on the rifle ad pic: it can be clearly identified as a counterfeit. This is positive proof gambler227 sold a fake EOTech which was advertised as the real deal.

Its been over a week and it appears gambler227 has not worked to come to a reasonable accommodation with te buyer. gambler does a lot of wheeling and dealing on this Forum but evidently the value he places on his integrity and reputation is less then what it would take to make this right. Rick (buyer) has meen more then patient.

Send gambler227 a PM and a identical phone text message. TELL him what you want and when. Post your sent and his response.
Every day he sandbags you, he could be screwing someone else. He's also a business owner its not like he is cash poor with the guns he has listed for sale. Business is business and there is more then GCGF Reviews to post in.

Your call when to drop the shitty scamming seller Review on him if he doesn't fix this ASAP. An honorable man would have fixed this if in fact "he didn't know it was a fake", yet his inaction tells his intent.
