Yep FrankT, I'm about tired of going. I'll try a few more times. The yellow river fields are even worse. I've never seen a dove over there. I need to save up so next year I can join a dove club.

only dove clubs I know of hunt 2 hours from me and charge $50 a day, ridiculous! I can kill more home birds at my lease than I can in most places...so sad

It's called "strength in numbers" . . . that's why they all live in Argentina.
To me - - -> not enough to make it even gearing up to hunt them here. --- SAWMAN

Do you eat them? Seems like youd have to kill at least 20 for a decent meal

A deboned dove breast is just about one mouth full. About 1/2 what a pidgeon is.
( Not to be confused with some of the other breasts pictured on this forum which seem to be MUCH more than a mouth full.) --- SAWMAN

I always like a hunt where there is more shooting than waiting. This is why I liked the PD hunts that I went on in South Dakota. This is why I absolutely love hunting crows on a flyway and/or over crops.
I would like to go on an organised dove hunt even though your limit is not enough for a good feed,i'm sure there would be quite a bit of shooting,at least for me.
If anyone has access to a good crow flyway and wants to have a bunch of fun, just let me know. I still have all my decoys, calls(both electronic(?) and hand held, and some great camo netting.
In Maine we used to go through at least 5-7 boxes of shells and kill 60-100 crows in one morning. My record, with a sport and his 14yo son was 138 crows from between first light until about 10AM. This was on a huge flyway and they were coming to a newly harvested potato field. --- SAWMAN

We had a pretty good shoot in Baker Saturday. Perfect day sitting in the shade with nice breeze. Quite a few birds.
