Went to the gunshow today at P'cola Fairgrounds and saw one of the best looking designs for a pistol that John Browning designed, as far as nice lines go. Colt is making the 1903 again in .32ACP. It had a green parkerized finish. Only problem is that it sells for $1299 from one dealer who had it. I don't have one, but always wanted one, especially in .380 ACP. Asked the dealer if Colt might make it in .380 ACP and he said probably not since this one isn't selling so well at this price. I agreed since they're made "up North" in Union Country. I wonder how much it would cost if it were made in a non-union shop or say if Ruger would make it.

Not selling well enough to even include it on Colt's website.

I would just say - - -> You want one. How many others want one ?? At what price ??
Remember also,if produced in 32ACP it would not even be good for concealed carry. If produced in 380ACP it would be marginal and somewhat bigger than most people want a pocket gun that produces those ballistics to be.
There are several guns that I would love to see come back or be produced. Among them are: Ruger Mini-14 in various other chamberings . . some more lever guns in "pistol" chamberings . . some bolt guns produced in the Ackley Improved chamberings . . Ithaca 37 with 14" bbl and Shockwave grip (non-NFA) . . and in general, faster twist chamberings, both bolt AND semi-auto . . etc, etc. BUT . . . . the demand just isn't there.
Anybody old enough to remember the Ruger that was "almost" brought to market named (IIRC) "XM-??" ?? It was to be basically a beefed up MINI-14. Supposedly Ruger couldn't get it's mag problems sorted out. I say they were paid off. It would have been a fine gun,and much needed back then (approx. 1980). --- SAWMAN

I don't think that there is a very good market for a blowback .380, especially at that price. The market is awash in good locked breech .380 designs that kick a lot less and cost a heck of a lot less money. I love the Colt/Browning M1903 design. I own an original .32 made in 1919 that is in near new condition, but I'm afraid that the design is just obsolete by todays standards and requires a degree of machine work that renders it unsuitable for manufacture at anything like a reasonable price.
