Big Shrek
Marksman
Ok, just traded for a somewhat beaten pistol,
and I'm contemplating some cerakote...
mostly due to some rust pitting on one side,
where some joker left it in a case too long??
(Cleaned rust off, pitting remains)
Normally I'd polish & reblue, or even Parkerize it,
but for some reason COLOR is screaming out to me...
and I don't have the painting kits necessary to DIY.
So, that probably means taking it to TGD...
their pics have impressed, and the other guys
don't seem to have done enough old gun repair
from what I've seen of the PFC site...
totally lacking on Before pics...Soooooooo...
Question 1. How much prep do I need to do myself,
or do they prefer to handle that so it's prepped
just the way they want it?
Q2. Since it's a non-standard 1911 clone, no longer made,
should I include a parts listing/schematic printout, just in case?
Q3. Since it is a non-standard pistol, (not one of the big names)
should I simply take it all the way down myself and present them
with a bag o' gun parts and the schematic??
