I took my daughter on a hog hunt. We've been practicing throughout the year in hopes that she'd get a chance at a deer. Well, we really never got out to deer hunt.

She'd never taken a shot at an animal and we'd been working her up from a BB gun, to a single shot .22 and then to a .223 rifle over the last few years. Now it was her turn on the big boy .308. Loaded it up and took to getting her a hog.

And she got herself a good one. One proud dad that she made a perfect shot!!!! 160 lb Boar.

Shot with my DPMS LR-308 loaded with the reduced recoil Hornady SST .308 rounds. The scope is an ATN digital scope. I sat there and watched the shot on my phone while she took the shot. I forgot to hit record though!!! But sitting there watching the scope view on my phone with this scope has helped me train and prepare her as a training aid and prepare for this moment. I don't know who was shaking more, her or me watching on my phone.

I couldn't be a more proud Dad!!! Both of my girls have been in the woods with me since about 3-4 years old. Now the youngest is asking when it's her turn to take the kill shot!!!

That's awesome! I sorta know the feeling. My little girl(5) went squirrel hunting with me for the first time this year. She was my spotter and retriever. I can't wait till she can actually shoot too
