Well, found a nice Megastar in .45acp
at a local PS, after a bit of hagglin,
    it's now home :)

They made two caliber options with these,
    .45acp & 10mm, was hunting for the 10mm,
but figured finding the 45 version wasn't bad :)

Took it to PSP's Hwy 29 range for it's initial testing,
and it performed NICELY!! Let the RO have a go,
now he's looking for a Megastar 45 for himself!

The only thing that I consider a Con for these,
is the front sight...which works great, but looks ugly.
Yep, designed that way to gather as much light as
possible, in all conditions...most folks shave 'em down,
and that may be an option later on, for now it stays.

Does anyone happen to know what Parent Magazine
    Star used to make theirs??

Star had a habit of using S&W mags and would place
their mag catch in a slightly different location to
avoid paying royalties to S&W...but during the 90's,
    S&W did not have a double-stack .45acp...

So I'm trying to figure out what else works ;)

If anyone has a clue or info, would love to hear it!!

Promag list them, megastar 10 rd, 45APC $35. Says they are available, if you like the gun, buy a bunch of them! Much better then $95 - $120 for factory mag.

    https://promagindustries.com/133-star

Kinda want the full capacity options...
which is why I'm searching for the 12/14 round mags...
But I may get some of the 10's and convert 'em back to OEM.

Star had a habit of copying other companies mags...
so sooner or later I'll figure out what the parent mag is,
then all that needs to be done is to add a new magwell hole,
and it'll be bangbang time :)

Two mags that are possibilities are the Para-Ord
P-14 (most likely)and the Taurus 845...just found an
845 mag and am going to try it out for fit & function
    on Monday :)
