Anybody have any experience with Escort shotguns? I know they are distributed by Legacy Sports, the same group that handles Howa rifles. I have a family member that is looking for a compact/youth size, 20 gauge, left handed semi-auto shotgun. Lots of options for left handed options and plenty of compact options, but the Escort is just about the only one I have found that is both. Anyone have any experience with the Escort or have any other ideas of who might may a compact LH, semi-auto? I've looked at Winchester, Remington, Weatherby, Benelli, Beretta, CZ, Franchi, Browning. Thoughts?

I'm not familiar with them but like a lot of things, you get what you pay for. If this is one of those $188 shotguns, it might be good for a couple years but it's not going to last like one of the name brand guns.
BUT, it might be fine for what your friend wants, just to bridge the gap until his boy can handle a full-size gun.

Being a lefty myself, I have never used a left handed gun. I have and will always train to use right handed guns even though I shoot them right handed. All of my Ar's, bolt guns, and shotguns are right handed guns. Couple of reasons: 1. Any gun I may have to borrow, or pick up off the street (maybe from a co worker or otherwise) will 99.9% of the time be right handed. So I will already know how to operate it and the best way for me to do it being left handed. 2. Most left handed versions are special order and likely more expensive. 3. Using all right handed guns, I do not have to special order parts, makes them cheaper and a lot easier to find either off the shelf or online. Cons: 1. The only gun I have that is semi not pleasant to shoot is my kel tec sub2000. I can run it fast and shoot it accurately but shooting it as a lefty put the ejection port really close to the cheek/eye area. I get a little powder on the face while shooting. I do not have that issue with AR's either pistol or rifle setup. 2. Bullpups are pretty much a no go unless you get one that ejects out the front or or down. 3. Using some 3 point slings left handed on an ar can be tricky so as not to block the ejection port, but double and single point slings work just fine.
Those are the only issues I have come accross on my 20+ years of using right handed weapons as a lefty. I also train to shoot most guns right handed as well. I may not be as fast and slightly less accurate that way but I can make the shot.
