Looks like S&W will not move on to the next competition phase:

As sportman,,we do a lot of shooting, and there are many serviceman and retired serviceman in here,,, Throw some ideas of The (( Ideal Sidearm )) to replace the M-9,, Not saying our P/P CCW ,,,But what would perform and be economical and reliable in all terrain,( Sand, Mud, water , For our serviceman to feel secure with,,,,,,,,We went thru this with the Stoner design,,and with a couple ideas,, Now we all like the A R platform and depend on its reliability.......

The Glock is idiot-proof and already in use by some NATO member's militaries. If it is going to remain a 9x19 - I say go with the new G17M. It's relatively inexpensive and easy to maintain in the field.

Marine SOCOM units already use the Glock 19. I believe the Glock platform would be a good choice. Then again if you look at the on again/off again/on again life of the 1911, it also is still in use by the Marines....ther are still some original WWI framed 1911's being used by SF units...(believe it or not).

The M9A3 is also out. It just made way too much sense.

Wonder how the M&P got dropped...I actually find it better than the Glocks for fit & function...
    if they made a 10mm longslide M&P, it'd replace my G20SF w/9" barrel...
